LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

RAPT+HELD operates on the traditional territory of many Indigenous nations, including the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee, and Wendat peoples in what is now called Toronto, Ontario. I see a parallel between the warp and weft of textiles and the interconnected histories woven into this land. Through sustainable practices and breathing new life into reclaimed materials, I aim to honour the principles of stewardship practiced on Turtle Island since time immemorial. I am committed to supporting Indigenous sovereignty, 2SLGBTQIA+ rights, and environmental protection through my creative practice.
